Here are some of my favorite freeware programs:

OpenOffice - OpenOffice provides all the same functionality as Microsoft Office but for free.  It is also able to read and write in all Office formats

Filezilla - This is the best FTP program I have seen – free or other wise.

Mozilla Thunderbird – This is a great email program.

Gimp - Graphics editing program.

Wordpress – Blog/CMS.  This is the program behind this website.
